each design is a new case that needs new solutions where harmony with nature, human and light must be achieved with the use of technology and knowledge.

' hOd architecture ' is a multidisciplinary internationally award winning design studio based in Izmir, trying to solve design problems of variety of scale. The office is the new face and the fourth generation of a family construction and real estate investment company ' dinmez construction 'celebrating its fiftieth anniversary.

​

the office uses a wide range of tools, from basic model making, sketching and water coloring presentation skills to opensource 3D modelling , CAD, BIM softwares and digital sketching tools. Besides the practice also focuses to work on developing custom plug-ins for these open source softwares based on project and client needs.

 

hOd architecture, a SMD member practice, is specialized on designing and constructing residential, educational, hospitality, retail and commercial bespoke projects.

BIO

​

Hüseyin Onur Dinmez, Founder, MSc.Arch, was born in 1980, Izmir-Turkey. Studied architecture at Istanbul Beykent University and graduated with first high honor degree in 2002.

​

Between 2002-2005 studied Building management and housing production in Yıldız Technical University for master of science degree. Published his thesis on ‘Small and medium size building enterprises in Turkey, their properties, problems and solution suggestions.’

​

During his education, he had the chance to work with precious academicians and professionals whom are worldwide famous in their own fields.

​

Managing partner, project manager and architect at Dinmez Construction Company and he is the founder of hOd architecture and StudioLAB Design Studies Community.

 

During past 25 years he designed and built several projects, managed constructions and attended several national and international architectural design competitions and received international awards.

​

He participated, organised workshops, gave both academic and professional speeches and inspiring lectures on various architectural design and construction technologies topics.

 

Besides these, he teaches architectural design studio, building construction and material courses at Izmir University of Economics and he is a visiting jury member for several universities.

 

He is a board member of İzmirSMD and SMDF, working on a book 'Building Construction & Details' and currently works as an architect in his own studio, trying to develop himself in every design disciplines.
